Online EKG Technician Certificate Program prepares you to take the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam administered by the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) Start a fulfilling career full of opportunities and ever-increasing demand, 58,400 total jobs by 2033*! EKG Technicians work at doctor’s offices, hospitals, medical diagnostic labs, and outpatient care centers. Our online training program begins with the healthcare basics of medical records, medical terminology, anatomy, medical ethics, and vital signs. Then, it moves on to the career-focused subjects of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, diseases and disorders of the heart, equipment, proper placement, and analysis.
The EKG Technician program is offered fully online and does not include the live skills practice (experience) opportunities required to obtain certification as an EKG Technician, which most employers require. Students are responsible for researching certification and/or licensure requirements and securing appropriate experience opportunities.
Education requirements:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) or be in pursuit of a high school diploma (or equivalent).
